- The natural lake of Ziros is a place of incomparable beauty, about 5 km northwest of the city of Filippiada. The lush vegetation and the evergreen trees by the lake constitute something magic that all visitors can admire by following the hiking trails.
- The Gulf of Amvrakikos is one of the most known and important wetlands in Greece and a unique one in Europe. It’s in the east of the Prefecture of Preveza and it’s protected by the Ramsar Convention. Visitors can learn about the wetland in the Museum of Natural History of Neochori, 5 km west of Preveza. The best locations for bird watching are at the Tsopeli lagoon, near the delta of Louros River, in the location Avleri of the Tsoukalio lagoon, in the observatory of Stroggyli, 30 km northeast of Preveza, and in the Center of Research and Information in Salaora and in Kopraina in the Prefecture of Arta.
- Acherontas is a river located in the Epirus region and is associated with a myth according to which the souls of the newly-dead were ferried across Acherontas to enter the Underworld. The straights and Delta of the Acherontas River, apart from being places of unique beauty they are also areas of ecological interest (Natura 2000 code.GR2140001).Visitors can find detailed information in the Center of Information in Ammoudia. From there, the small excursion boats cross the Acherontas River and offer a truly unique experience.
